Why do you believe there still remains a gender pay gap? via /r/FemmeThoughts

I have read many things stating that the pay gap is attributed to women not negotiating their salaries. I have a hard time believing that is the reason. Negotiations with women would start at a lower point then it would with men anyway so the pay gap would never truly be closed by those means. I believe it's attributed to this patriarchal society we live in today.
