Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Over 4 years ago on a different message board, I made a custom set featuring the characters of the video game Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

While I was initially happy with the end result, part of me wanted to improve what I created. So, here's my attempt to improve/remake what I started. I hope you enjoy!

Marvel: Captain America 3WW Legendary Creature – Human Soldier First strike, vigilance Captain America can block an additional creature. If a creature you control becomes the target of a spell or ability, you may pay W. If you do, change the target to Captain America. 3/4

Deadpool 2RR Legendary Creature – Human Mercenary Mutant Haste, indestructible Deadpool can't attack or block unless you pay PR. At the beginning of your upkeep, you may pay PR. If you do not, tap Deadpool. 3/2

Doctor Doom 2BB Legendary Artifact Creature – Human Wizard When Doctor Doom is dealt damage, put a photon counter on him. Remove three photon counters: Destroy target creature. 2/4

Dormammu 3BR Legendary Creature – Demon Deathtouch, exalted When Dormammu attacks alone and deals combat damage to a player, you may pay 2B. If you do, destroy target land. If that land was nonbasic, Dormammu deals 2 damage to the land's controller. 3/5

Hulk 4GG Legendary Creature – Human Mutant 1G, T: Target creature you control gains flying until end of turn. GG: Hulk gets +2/+2 and gains trample until end of turn. Activate this ability only any time you can cast a sorcery. 4/4

Iron Man 3WW Legendary Artifact Creature – Human Artificer Flying 3W: Iron Man gets +5/+0 until end of turn. Activate this ability only once per turn and only when Iron Man attacks. Iron Man doesn't untap during your next untap step. 4/4

Magneto 3B Legendary Creature – Human Mutant Flying, protection from artifacts Sacrifice a nontoken artifact: Destroy target nonartifact creature. 3/2

M.O.D.O.K. 1UB Legendary Creature – Human Mutant Flying 3B: Until end of turn, target creature you control has, "When this creature is dealt damage by a source an opponent controls, deal that much damage to target creature." 0/2

Phoenix day 2R Legendary Creature – Human Mutant Flying If Phoenix would be destroyed, you may pay 3RRR. If you do, regenerate Phoenix and transform her. 2/2

Dark Phoenix night BR Legendary Creature – Human Mutant Flying, menace, trample 8/4

Sentinel 6 Artifact Creature – Construct Flying When Sentinel blocks or becomes blocked by a Mutant, it gains +2/+2 and has first strike until end of turn. 3/5

She-Hulk 3GG Legendary Creature – Human Advisor Mutant Vigilance, reach GG: She-Hulk gains +1/+2 until end of turn. 3/3

Spider-Man 3W Legendary Creature – Human Spider Mutant First strike, reach 1W, T: Tap target creature. That creature doesn't untap during its controller's next untap step. 2/4

Storm 2RW Legendary Creature – Human Mutant Flying T: Storm deals 2 damage to target creature or player. 1U, T: Tap target creature. That creature doesn't untap during its controller's next untap step. 2/2

Super Skrull 2UBR Legendary Creature – Skrull Warrior Mutant Flying, hexproof R: Super Skrull gets +1/+0 until end of turn. 3/3

Taskmaster 3R Legendary Creature – Human Mercenary Defender, double strike, reach 2/2

Thor 4RW Legendary Creature – God Flying When Thor becomes blocked, choose target creature blocking Thor. Thor deals damage to that blocking creature's controller equal to half that creature's toughness, rounded up. You gain life equal to the damage dealt this way. 5/5

Wolverine 3RG Legendary Artifact Creature – Human Mutant Double strike, haste 2RG: Wolverine gets +2/-1 and has trample until end of turn. 2/2

X-23 1RG Legendary Artifact Creature – Human Mutant First strike, haste 1U: X-23 gains +1/+0 until end of turn and can't be blocked this turn. 2/1

Doctor Strange 2UU Legendary Creature – Human Wizard Flying, prowess Whenever Doctor Strange deals combat damage to a player, you may draw a card. If you do, discard a card. 2/1

Ghost Rider 2BR Legendary Creature – Demon Spirit Haste, protection from Demons Pay 2 life: Ghost Rider gets +2/+0 and has trample until end of turn. Activate this ability once per turn and only when you can cast a sorcery. BR, discard a card: Destroy target creature. It can't be regenerated. 2/2

Hawkeye 1WW Legendary Creature – Human Scout Archer First strike, reach Other Archer creatures you control get +1/+1 and have first strike. 2/2

Iron Fist 3WW Legendary Creature – Human Monk Double strike W: Iron Fist gets +1/+0 and has flying until end of turn. Activate this ability once per turn. W: Iron Fist gets +0/+1 until end of turn. Iron Fist can block an additional creature this turn. W: Iron Fist gains lifelink until end of turn. Activate this ability only when you can cast a sorcery. 2/2

Nova 2WW Legendary Creature – Human Soldier Flying Whenever Nova is dealt damage, you may pay 1W. If you do, Nova deals damage to target creature equal to the total damage dealt to Nova this turn. 2/4

Rocket Raccoon 2R Legendary Creature – Raccoon Mercenary 1R: Target unblocked creature becomes blocked. (This ability works on creatures that can't be blocked.) 2R, sacrifice an artifact: Rocket Raccoon deals 5 damage to target creature. 2/1

Capcom: Akuma 4BB Legendary Creature – Human Demon Warrior Trample T, pay 5 life: Akuma deals 15 damage to target nonartifact, nonflying creature. Akuma doesn't untap during your next untap step. 6/3

Wesker 3BB Legendary Creature – Human Rogue Mutant 2BB: Wesker deals 2 damage to each opponent. Each player dealt damage this way discards a card. 4/2

Amaterasu 2RW Legendary Creature – Wolf God Vigilance, haste 2RR, T: Amaterasu deals 4 damage to each creature with flying. Activate only when you can cast a sorcery. 3/2

Arthur 2WW Legendary Creature – Human Knight First strike, vigilance You pay 2 less for equip costs of Equipment when equipping Arthur. 2/2

Chris Redfield 2WW Legendary Creature – Human Soldier Vigilance, reach Chris Redfield enters the battlefield with 3 ammo counters. Chris can't attack or block unless you remove one ammo counter. During your upkeep, you may pay 3. If you do, put 3 ammo counters on Chris. When Chris blocks or becomes blocked by a Zombie, Chris gets +2/+1 and gains first strike until end of turn. 4/3

Chun-Li 2W Legendary Creature – Human Warrior Vigilance T: Chun-Li deals 2 damage to target attacking creature. 2/3

Crimson Viper 2R Legendary Creature – Human Warrior Haste R: Crimson Viper deals 2 damage to target creature blocking Crimson Viper. Activate this ability no more that two times each turn. 3/2

Dante, Demon Hunter day 3RR Legendary Creature – Human Demon Mercenary Whenever a creature dealt damage by Dante dies this turn, put a devil charge counter on Dante. At the beginning of the end step, if there are 3 or more devil charge counters on Dante, exile Dante, then return him to the battlefield transformed under his owner's control. 3/3

Dante, Son of Sparda night BR Legendary Creature – Demon Mercenary Flying, double strike, lifelink Dante, Son of Sparda enters the battlefield with 3 devil counters. At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a devil counter from Dante. If you cannot, transform Dante. 5/5

Felicia 2G Legendary Creature – Cat Warrior Haste, reach 3/2

Hsien-Ko 2BB Legendary Creature – Zombie Warrior Undying You pay 2 less for equip costs of Equipment when equipping Hsien-Ko. 2/2

Mike Haggar 3RR Legendary Creature – Human Warrior Advisor 2R: Creatures you control with power 4 or greater gain menace until end of turn. 4/3

Morrigan Aensland 2BB Legendary Creature – Succubus Flying, lifelink, exalted Whenever Morrigan Aensland attacks alone and deals combat damage to a player, you may pay 3BB. If you do, gain control of target creature that player controls until Morrigan leaves the battlefield. That creature gains exalted. 2/2

Spencer 2WW Legendary Creature – Human Soldier Vigilance, reach 1W: Spencer gets +1/+0 for each Soldier you control until end of turn. Activate this ability only once per turn and only when you choose Spencer as a blocker. 2/4

Ryu 3WW Legendary Creature – Human Warrior First strike 3W: Ryu gets +5/+0 until end of turn. Activate only once per turn and only when declaring attackers. Ryu doesn't untap during your next untap step. 4/4

Trish 2WB Legendary Creature – Human Demon 1W, T: Tap target creature. It doesn't untap during its controller's next untap step. 1B, T: Destroy target tapped creature. Whenever you cast a Human or Demon creature spell, you may pay 2 life. If you do, untap Trish. 3/2

Tron Bonne 5 Legendary Creature – Human Artificer Noncreature artifact spells you cast cost 2 less to cast. T, sacrifice a noncreature artifact: Create X 1/1 colorless Construct artifact creature tokens named Servbot, where X is the sacrificed artifact's converted mana cost. T, sacrifce 5 Servbot tokens: Create a 5/5 colorless Construct artifact creature token with trample named Mega Servbot. 3/5

Viewtiful Joe 2RR Double strike, haste Whenever Viewtiful Joe deals combat damage to a player, tap target creature. That creature doesn't untap during its controller next untap step. 2/1

Zero 2RW Artifact Creature – Construct Warrior First strike RW: Zero gets +2/+0 and gains haste until end of turn. Whenever Zero attacks, you may pay RW. If you do, create a tapped and attacking token that's a copy of Zero. Exile the token at the end of combat. 3/2

Firebrand 3R Creature – Devil Warrior Flying R: Firebrand gets +1/+0 until end of turn. 2R, T: Firebrand fights target creature you don't control. 2/3

Frank West 1W Legendary Creature – Human Level Up 2 (2: Put a level counter on this. Activate only as a sorcery.) 1/1 Level 2-3: You pay 1 less for equip costs of Equipment when equipping Frank West. 2/2 Level 4: You pay 0 instead of paying the equip costs of Equipment when equipping Frank. 3/3

Nemesis T-Type 5BB Creature – Zombie Mutant Reach, menace 5/3

Phoenix Wright 2W Legendary Creature – Human Advisor Metalcraft – When you control 3 or more artifacts, Phoenix Wright gets +3/+3 and gains first strike, lifelink, and vigilance. 1/1

Strider Hiryu 2WU Legendary Creature – Human Ninja First strike 1U, T: Create a 2/2 blue Wolf artifact creature token. 1W, T: Create a 1/1 white Bird artifact creature token. Whenever Strider Hiryu attacks, you may pay 4. If you do, create a tapped and attacking 3/3 Legendary colorless construct artifact creature token named Oroboros. It has flying and, "When Strider Hiryu becomes the target of a spell or ability, change the target to this creature." Exile the token during your next upkeep. 3/3

Vergil, Demonic Swordsman day 3UB Legendary Creature – Human Demon Warrior First strike Whenever a creature dealt damage by Vergil, Demonic Swordsman dies this turn, put a devil charge counter on Vergil. At the beginning of the end step, if there are 3 or more devil charge counters on Vergil, exile Vergil, then return him to the battlefield transformed under his owner's control. 3/3

Vergil, Son of Sparda night UB Legendary Creature – Demon Warrior First strike, lifelink Vergil, Son of Sparda enters the battlefield with 3 devil counters. At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a devil counter from Vergil. If you cannot, transform Vergil. Remove 3 devil counters from Vergil: Destroy target creature. Vergil deals damage to that creature's controller equal to Vergil's power. Transform Vergil. 6/5

Galactus 13 Legendary Creature – God Annihilator 3, hexproof, protection from nonlegendary When Galactus enters the battlefield, sacrifice all nonlegendary permanents you control. Whenever Galactus dies, exile it instead of putting it in its owner's graveyard. 13/13

And that's it. For the most part, I focused on flavor for each character, but I tried to make them as balanced as possible (except, maybe, for Galactus). I welcome any feedback and criticism.
