Should life expectancy calculations in injury and death cases account for income?

New research by economists at Brookings Institute using data from Social Security administration suggest that they should.  According to their study, the top 10% of earners who were born in 1950 live more than 14 years longer then earners in the bottom 10%.  The study found similar differences throughout the earnings distributions
