Alt Right Christian – Frequently Asked Questions, and Answers to Common Wails of Protest

What is the Alt Right? Because my hysterical, wide-eyed friend told me that…

Ignore your friend. The Alt Right is actually a pretty far-reaching scope of political thought. Instead of trying to define the alt-right exhaustively, I'll hit the cornerstones of how I see it at r/AltRightChristian, as small and fledgling as this sub is.

  • Rejection of the Diversity Cult – Realizing that there's nothing wrong for a person race X to say 'You know, I largely want to live in a community of fellow X people, who share my culture, my values, and my language.' For various inane reasons, when X=White, a lot of people go ballistic. I no longer do, and the people who do freak out about this are absurd.

  • Rejection of Secular Sacredness – There are a lot of sacred secular cows. 'Race doesn't exist, or if it does, it doesn't matter.' 'IQ can't possibly be genetic, and you certainly can't say that some races have higher/lower IQs than others.' 'The black community can't be blamed in any significant part for its current state.' 'It's horrible and wicked to suggest that some sexual preferences between adults are bad and should be discouraged.' 'Making a racially insensitive joke or using a word deemed offensive is a great sin and requires punishment.' In arc, a whole lot of these aren't just questioned. They are laws of a secular religion for which blasphemy against is tolerated, or even encouraged.

  • Rejection of the Respectable/Nice Obsession – Conservatives – until recently the torch-bearers for the Right in America – are obsessed with respectability. They work overtime to quash, fire, silence and otherwise attack elements on the right deemed (often, by the left) to be beyond the pale and crude. Christians at large have a similar view, regarding it as the greatest sin to ever say something that may make a person reject Christianity or, God forbid, think lesser of Christians in general. In both cases, the tendency is to prioritize self-policing (and punishing) of their own 'extremists', while forever seeking dialogue and allegiance with people who hold them in disdain. My view is that this is insanity and quisling behavior of the worst kind. Christ wasn't inoffensive; inoffensive people don't get put to death by an angry mob.

Not an exhaustive list, but I think those are the key points aimed to be promoted in this sub.

Well, how do 'white people' figure into all of this?

I think white people have reasonable complaints about their lot in the West. They're mistreated and mocked in just about every cultural venue. They're ignored by their leaders, both political and religious, except when a scapegoat is needed. They're victimized by crime at the individual level, riots at a larger level, political and social policies which forever prioritize helping others at their expense, and more.

It's fashionable for Christians to treat whites, and Christianity, as collectively wicked, for which modern whites/Christians must do much to atone for. I reject that mindset. As such, I encourage white people to be proud of who they are, their cultures, their backgrounds, and even their priorities and inclinations. I encourage Christians to be the same. Both have a stellar legacy in this world, and it's time to say so.

Clergy and Christian leaders are practically united in their silence on these problems, or being complicit in trying to hector, shame, or otherwise bully people for the high crime of being white. Answering that is part of this subreddit.

Oh my God, so this is a white supremacist sub!? You guys hate People of Color!

I regard racial supremacy as inane. Races have differences, they excel in various ways, but 'supremacy' is nonsense talk. Pride/self-respect does not equal supremacy. In fact, I wish all people of all races well, and I think most whites do the same. Wishing well does not mean a requirement to morally and intellectually shame ourselves into some kind of racial indentured servitude, especially for past sins we were not involved in, against people long dead, and usually with those 'PoC' races playing a very active role in it all.

That said, I don't have any desire to run around policing people screaming about 'dindus' or 'googles/skypes' or anything else. I'll change my policy on that the moment whines of 'whitesplaining' or 'white privilege' are fireable/shunnable offenses in the world at large. Until then, I have better uses of my time, and better things to do with this subreddit.

Fine, you're talking about the Alt-Right part of things. But what about the Christian part?

I think the alt-right covers – often in a much cruder way – issues that a sincere Christian needs to pay attention to. I regard what's being done to whites and sincere/traditional Christians both as nothing short of large-scale (call it 'systemic' if you like) emotional and psychological abuse. And I think hispanics, and blacks in particular, are being done a great disservice by denying them honesty in evaluating what problems plague their communities and their cultures as well. I think there's room for a lot of friendship, love, praise and respect. But I tend to focus on issues that others are ignoring, or exacerbating.

Put another way: I think it's a Christian duty to tell whites (and others, but that's less controversial) that they have every right to feel pride, to protect and focus on their communities, and more. I think it's a Christian duty to give aid and comfort to Christian traditionalists. And, last but not least, but I want to reach out to alt-right people and let them know that not all of Christianity has to be the monstrosity that so many modern fakes present it as.

Wait, you're Catholic? What about non-Catholic alt-righters? And doesn't Pope Francis oppose what you do?

I have a very low opinion of Pope Francis, and I have no qualms about making it known. This isn't a Catholic subreddit, but more general Christian, and I welcome non-Christian and non-white people who are sympathetic to its message. I think there's a place for some dialogue – real dialogue – among those groups. I have very little patience for liberal 'Christian' moral scolds, secular wannabe saints, and New Atheists.

Well, I disagree with your whole 'mission' and I plan on sticking around to argue with or taunt everyone who agrees with you!

I am a despot who enjoys banning people. There's plenty of places to annoy the Alt-Right and Christians. This isn't one. Be on your best behavior here if you dissent.
